This course is aimed at Intermediate or Advanced university level students who wish to improve their academic writing and study skills. Work will focus in some detail on the organization of academic texts and the way language is used to express particular notions and ideas (e.g. description, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, interpretation of non-verbal data) and on the skills needed for effective study (e.g planning essays, using quotations and references, note-taking). This course is suitable for students in any discipline area but would be especially useful for students working at post-graduate level. This course will teach you all aspects of Business English, including writing reports, memos, business letters, using internet for business, making proposals and presentations, and doing business internationally in English. The goal of the course is for participants to learn the vocabulary of marketing, and to understand the principles of marketing as taught in the United States.
